As social becomes more and more prominent, its important to become better versed in these tools as a means of observing everyday conversations, understanding what’s being talked about, who’s doing the talking, and expanding ways to engage with specific communities. This toolkit is a part of that effort, aimed at introducing the concepts that underlie social media, as well as major types of tools that are used. In addition, we consider how to take a strategic approach to integrating social media into existing efforts.
