Expertise/Specialty Special Health Resources for Texas, Inc. (SHRT) specializes in substance abuse and HIV/AIDS, while delivering comprehensive physical and mental health care of the highest standards to 23 East Texas counties. SHRT began providing HIV services in 1989. In 1995 SHRT opened the first statewide specialized inpatient treatment program in the State of Texas for people with HIV and substance abuse issues. |
HRSA recognized Wellspring Recovery Center as one of 12 model programs in the U.S.A. for HIV/Substance Abuse. SHRT provides comprehensive prevention, intervention, and treatment services for HIV and substance abuse. Training Didactic lectures and interactive workshops are provided. Topics
include HIV and Primary Care, Perinatal, and Substance Abuse
Workshops. Target Audience: Mid-level Practitioners, Physicians, Nurses, Social Workers, and Substance Abuse Counselors.
