Expertise/Specialty of LPS

PASO is a full service community based organization with a case management system which provides referrals to doctors, dentists and optometrists, therapeutic counseling, transportation, housing assistance, and support groups.

 

Training

The Pandhandle AIDS Support Organization LPS provides Level I (didactic lectures) and Level II (workshops) targeting Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners and Nurses. The Minority AIDS Initiative workshop is offered to provide clinicians with HIV education to enhance the quality of culturally competent care.

Michael Timcisko

     LPS Administrator


Michael Timcisko is the Executive Director of the Panhandle AIDS Support Organization (PASO). He has served in this position for 8 eight years. Michael has been involved with HIV/AIDS since 1984. While living in Austin TX, he became a “buddy”, a care giver, an activist, and fundraiser for direct care services for individuals infected with HIV. After moving to Amarillo, Michael served as Director of HIV Prevention services for Planned Parenthood of Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle for five years. He has been an active member and Chairman of the Amarillo Area HIV/AIDS Consortium. He has also been a member of the Lubbock, Odessa, Midland, Amarillo (LOMA) HIV Prevention Community Planning Group for 10 years and the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) appointed co-chair for LOMA for 5 years.

Sue Burns

   Education Coordinator

Sue Burns is the LPS Coordinator of the Panhandle AIDS Support Organization (PASO).  She joined the agency for the second time in July of 2011.  Sue first worked with PASO in 1991. She started as a volunteer “buddy” for clients.  She became the Volunteer Coordinator in 1992  then did Early Intervention Intake until 1995.  During that time, she also did outreach education and volunteer training. She has been active with PASO on and off and has served on the Board of Directors for the past several years.

Arlene Hudson, MD

   Clinical Director


Arlene Hudson M.D. is currently employed at the J.O. Wyatt Community Health Center in Amarillo, TX.  She also serves as PASO’s Medical Advisor. Dr. Hudson has been treating HIV positive patients for over 20 years. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Loma Linda University in 1986. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. She has been married to Dr. Curtis Hudson for 25 years and is the mother of three children.
