Oral Health & HIV Education Symposium

This FREE symposium was designed to provide dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants with the most current information on oral health, oral care, and the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). This FREE course will contain advanced information for practitioners anticipating the care and treatment of the HIV patient.

Fundamentals of HIV Treatment & Disease

The Texas Department of State Health Services will be sponsoring a free, one-day event (6 CE hours will be offered) for non-HIV specialist medical providers with faculty support from the TX/OK AIDS Education and Training Center. 

The training will help to meet the needs of the HIV population by tapping into currently existing medical practices, as well as established medical homes for HIV patients.  This training is intended for not only medical providers, but also those often involved in the treatment planning of HIV patients, such as social workers, registered sanitarians, and certified health education specialists.

"Fundamentals of HIV Treatment & Disease Management for the Non-HIV Provider"

The Texas Department of State Health Services & the TX/OK AETC have partnered in creating a free, one-day event that is geated toward the non-HIV Specialist providers across the state. 

This training is intended to assist in increasing capacity across the state to meet the needs of the HIV population by tapping into currently existing medical practices, as well as establish "medical homes" for HIV patients.  This training will also serve to increase the efficacy and quality of delivered services through the provision of necessary - and up-to-date - education and training for not only medical providers, but collateral partners who are often involved in the provision of HIV services and/or the treatment planning of HIV patients such as social workers, Registered sanitarians, and certified health education specialists.

7th Annual HIV Clinical Update & Border Summit "HIV on the Border: Piecing it all Together"

This free conference will serve as an opportunity for La FE CARE Center to offer HIV/AIDS care providers specialized training and support on prevention, focused on the importance of women getting tested for HI/AIDS and the impact of HIV/AIDS on US-Mexico border communities.  In El Paso County, three time the HIV positive results in 2010 has increasingly impacted women.  The conference will emphasize how these women can lead a normal, health life despite being infected, focusing on improving health outcomes. 

Who Should Attend? Practicing clinical providers include physicians (as well as psychiatrists and other medical sub-specialists), physician assistants, advance practice nurese, pharmacists, nurse pratitioners, nurses, and oral health professionals.
