  Summary:

This module discusses comorbidities and issues encountered by aging human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and acquired immune deficiency (AIDS) patients.

 

 Learning Objectives:

By the end of this presentation, the participant should be able to:

    1. Identify ailments common to long-term patients with human immunodeficiency virus and acquired immune deficiency syndrome (HIV and AIDS).
    2. Recognize measures used to prevent polypharmacy in older HIV- and AIDS-infected patients.
    3. Recognize measures used to treat hypertension in HIV-infected patients.
